About us
We built what we wished existed.
Tuned In is a calm, plain-English guide to your kid's online world, made by parents who were tired of guessing.
Our kids got online faster than the advice did.
It started at our own kitchen tables. Our kids were using apps we'd barely heard of and saying words we didn't understand, and we couldn't tell what was fine and what wasn't.
We went looking for help. What we found was scary headlines, dense technical guides, or advice written for people who already knew their way around a settings menu. Nothing was written for a tired parent at 9pm wondering whether a word their kid just used is something to worry about.
So we built it ourselves. One place with the answers, in words we'd want to read.
The gap we wanted to close
Kids move fast
New apps, new slang and new trends turn up every month. By the time you've heard of one, they've moved on to the next.
The advice is scattered
Schools, news stories, other parents and government sites all say different things, and few of them are written for a busy adult.
Parents feel judged
So many of us stay quiet, guess, or panic. None of those help our kids.
What we believe
Talk to them, don't spy on them
Trust and open conversation protect kids better than watching every move.
Calm beats panic
Most of what kids do online is fine. We help you tell the difference, and stay steady when it isn't.
Plain English, always
No jargon, no tech degree needed. If we can't explain it simply, we haven't done our job.
Made for Australian families
Our help lines, reporting links and rules are the ones you'll actually use here.

We're parents first.
We know the 9pm worry, the eye roll, and the feeling that everyone else has it figured out. They don't. Neither do we, which is why we keep this guide honest and keep it up to date.
What we're not
Tuned In is general information. We're not doctors, lawyers or a government service, and we don't replace your GP, your child's school or the help lines listed on this site. If someone is in danger right now, call 000.
Help us get better
Slang and apps change fast, so we keep this guide up to date.
